Shinedown New Album 2026: Release Date, Title & More (2026)

Shinedown's New Album: A Highly Anticipated Release with a Twist

The wait is almost over! Shinedown fans, prepare for a thrilling announcement this month. Drummer Barry Kerch has revealed that the band will soon unveil the title and release date of their latest album, the eagerly awaited successor to 2022's 'Planet Zero'.

But here's where it gets interesting. In a recent interview, Kerch hinted that this new album will be a departure from their recent concept records. He expressed relief that it won't be another concept album, citing the intentional approach of 'Attention Attention' and the unintentional evolution of 'Planet Zero' into one due to the COVID-era recording process. Instead, the band aims to create a collection of songs that are simply fun and reminiscent of old-school rock and roll.

And this is the part most fans are curious about: the sound. When asked if the recently released singles represent the album's overall style, Kerch assured that the album will be as eclectic as their previous work. He promises surprises, head-banging moments, and a reflection of the band's current state. Each song will have its unique character, keeping the excitement high.

The band has already released several singles, including 'Three Six Five', 'Dance, Kid, Dance', 'Killing Fields', and 'Searchlight', which debuted at the Opry in October 2025. The latter, written by Brent Smith, Eric Bass, and Dave Bassett, showcases Shinedown's signature emotional depth and anthemic power, but with a fresh sonic twist. The music video, directed by Andrew Donoho, captures the band's live energy and features a steel pedal guitar and banjo.

2025 was a landmark year for Shinedown. 'Searchlight' followed the global success of 'Three Six Five', which dominated various radio charts. The band also released 'Dance, Kid, Dance' and 'Killing Fields', both reaching No. 1, solidifying their radio dominance. With 21 No. 1 songs on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart and 23 No. 1s on the Mediabase Active Rock chart, Shinedown holds the record for the most No. 1s on both charts, as well as the most Top 5s and Top 10s in their history.

Beyond chart success, Shinedown achieved several milestones in 2025. They sold out Madison Square Garden for the first time during their 'Dance, Kid, Dance' arena tour and donated $300,000 to Musicians On Call. Additionally, they took home multiple iHeartRadio Awards, reinforcing their status as a contemporary powerhouse.

Looking ahead, Shinedown has exciting plans. They've announced their inaugural curated festival, Shinedown's Lunatic Ball Beach Weekend, set for October 2026 in Florida, featuring performances by BUSH, HANSON, FLYLEAF, and more. The band will also headline the prestigious Sonic Temple festival in Ohio in May 2026, sharing the stage with iconic acts like My Chemical Romance and Tool.
